Obituary of Eugene D. D’Ambrose

On August 31, 2018 at age 78. Gene is predeceased by his parents, Gustiano and Clara Colucci D’Ambrose. He is survived by his wife, Janet; sister, Sandi (Charlie) Mardigian; son, Martin (Amy); daughters, Nicole (Dr. Jon) Dick and Cindy Giambertone; grandchildren, Louis and Anthony Giambertone, Christopher and Nicolas D’Ambrose; step-granddaughter, Rachael Whalen; sister-in-law, Laura Carpenter; brothers-in-law, Bill and David (Maria) Carter.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mehul Patel and the staff at the Lipson Cancer Center.
Friends may call Tuesday, September 4, 4-7PM at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 S. Washington Street, East Rochester. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 11AM at All Season’s Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in Gene’s name to Camp Good Days.

Obituary of Marcia Laffin

Marcia (Mardigian) Laffin of Marshfield passed away on October 20, 2021 at  the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Richard Laffin. “longtime partner of the late Dietrich Jung”, loving mother of David Laffin and his wife Sandra, Michael Laffin, Joel Laffin and his wife Michelle, and former daughter in-law Susan Laffin; cherished grandmother of Timothy, Daniel, Lilliana, Sydney, Teagan,and Stefanie; dear sister of Charles Mardigian.

Marcia was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and stalwart friend. She was generous and kind, constantly putting herself before others, and she loved to be with family and friends.

Marcia’s house was full of laughter and fun. This was especially true with her children and grandchildren. Hers was the house where the neighborhood children came to play and she was always ready with food, particularly her baked dishes which nobody could replicate. She loved to laugh, and her laughter was loud and contagious.

As a friend Marcia would take people in who needed help and assist them in getting back on their feet. Any time anyone needed something she would offer what she had.

Most importantly, Marcia was a devoted mother and grandmother who made sure that her children and grandchildren wanted for nothing that she was able to provide. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved them unconditionally and reveled in spoiling them.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 1981 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery.

 

From Charlie….

I loved my wonderful big sister.  Caring, compassionate, fearless, indefatigable, understanding, always supportive, giving – no matter what the cost, sacrifice  or risk to herself – and loyal beyond comprehension to those she loved.

She was a Friend to so many. Like our Mom and Dad, a truly good and decent human being.  She went out of her way to to good things for people when no one else would step up to the plate. Marcia made a positive difference in the lives of so many. I am so proud of my sister and the sacrafices she made to make things better for the people around her. She would always do what she believed was right no matter what others said or felt.

I miss her, but am truly fortunate and thankful for the many wonderful memories we shared.

 

This is from a reading when our Dad passed away in 1968. It expresses what is inside my heart and soul both then and now:
